Built around an golf event
More than a magazine
On Wednesday 27 April, the second BeNe Tourism Golf Cup took place in the Kempense Golf Club in Mol, Belgium. Once again, this co-marketing event created an interesting playing field for tourism boards, luxury hotels and cruise companies to put their offer in the spotlight from a golf perspective towards Belgian and Dutch travel professionals.
This second edition of the golf event was made possible by Seabourn, Evian Resort Golf Club, Atout France – Brussels, Royal Hotel Sanremo, Golf en Côte d’Opale, Costa Cruises and the tourism boards of Curaçao and Ireland. The nine partners each sponsored their own team of golfers, consisting of travel agents and tour operators from Belgium and the Netherlands who are active in the golf segment.
The competition consisted of a diverse field of participants, from casual golf enthusiasts to diehard players. With Texas Scramble as the chosen game formula, we had a nice team variant for golfers of all levels. Team Ireland was crowned winner of the day, with David Connellan (Tourism Ireland), JanHein van de Watering (City 2 City Golf), Philippe Bellemans (Gallia) and Bert Van den Heuvel (Time4Golf).
Glenn Verelst of Seabourn thought the event was a nice reunion with both golf specialists and travel agents who also play golf themselves. “Many of our own guests are also golf enthusiasts and with Seabourn we offer a good mix of both cruise and golf fun. At the BeNe Tourism Golf Cup, we can present our offer from these two perspectives to travel professionals who are in touch with both.”
Vincent Toulotte from Atout France – Brussels was also very satisfied. “The entire day was very well organized and the right diversity of Belgian and Dutch travel agents involved in golf were present. Nothing but satisfied faces, both among the participants and the sponsors.”
